Monica Garza-Vickery - Owner/Artist
From a very young age I have had a passion for all that is beautiful. My love for art has spanned across so many realms, in sculpture, photography, skin art, clothing design and anything else I can possibly imagine, that it makes my head spin.
I began taking pictures with my father at the age
of 3. I would flip through, with wonderment, the
thousands of photos he had taken over the years.
In college, he set me free to the digital world and I have since been trying to drag him there with me.

I attended high school here in San Antonio and attempted to get into every art and photography class that was available. This passion carried on to college. I completed two degrees in psychology all the while picking up an art class nearly every semester. After graduation, I went on with my artistic abilities in working at a design company. I had our first baby in 2004 and I went crazy taking photos of our amazing little one. In the first year, I backed-up over 3000 photos of him. Between his birth and those of my friend's I was shooting many photos of bellies and births. Then eighteen months after Liam was born, Aedan was born. I sharpened my photography skills even further.

I credit my passion for the more tangible arts of
sculpture and sewing to my mother. She decided,
one summer, that I WOULD learn to sew, as a sort of legacy. All of the women in my family have learned to sew and do sew VERY well. I went along with the idea of learning, never knowing that I would love it so much that I would sew for a professional cheerleader/dance team costume design company for two years.

Now, out of necessity I use my well practiced skills for more functional pieces in baby wearing, ring slings (My husband and I had two amazing little boys in less than two years)! There were moments when I HAD to sling these little guys. We have loved wearing our babies and look forward to slinging more.

I am currently working on EVERYTHING! Photo editing, web design, studying midwifery skills, writing, learning to tattoo, and anything else that strikes me as interesting (that week).
